Another WOW client in work!

10 October 2011

Congratulations to Sally, who is about to start work for the Scottish Court Service as a Court Macer at the High Court.

As part of her 2010 WOW course, Sally did a work placement at the Scottish Court Service, where she realised that this was exactly the kind of job she wanted.

She went on to complete a college course, refresh her admin skills by working as a volunteer in the WOW office, and was subsequently named one of three WOW Trainees of the Year.

When Sally heard there were job opportunities at the court service, she was keen to apply and WOW guidance officer Jane supported her throughout the process.

Following a successful interview, Sally was offered not one but two jobs!

Sally’s work placement was arranged by WOW graduate Shirley Dolan, who now works as a line manager at the court service.

Sally says, “WOW has been really beneficial for me. The course, the placement, the volunteering experience, and the help I got with applications – all those things have helped me to take the next steps into employment. I can’t wait to begin my new job!”

Janine Botfield, Director of WOW says, “We are absolutely thrilled about Sally’s success. And not at all surprised. When Sally volunteered in the WOW office, it was clear she had great admin and IT skills and was going to be a real asset for any employer.

“We’re also really excited about our ongoing relationship with Shirley Dolan – a WOW graduate who is now one of our key employer partners. This is what WOW is all about – women supporting each other – we’re not just here to help women get a job – we’re a family.”
