New Clients
We are pleased to announce that we are now running programmes for new clients.
If you would like to work with us, you will need to fill in an application form. The form asks about you and your family, your education and qualifications, your employment and job seeking experience, the barriers you face, and the support you need. It will take about 20 minutes to complete.
We ask for some information which is quite personal, but we do need this information to make sure we are developing services in consultation with you, and so that we know what your particular needs are. All the information you provide will remain confidential.
There are two ways you can complete the enquiry form:
- Fill in the form online by clicking here.
- Ring us on 0131 475 2622 and ask us to post a copy of the enquiry form out to you. If you leave a message on the answering machine, please leave your name, full address and phone number. Once you have received the form and completed it, use the enclosed prepaid envelope to post it back to us.
If you have any questions, or would like to speak about the form before you fill it out, please call Emma Liddell on 0131 475 2622.
What can we do for you?
At Women Onto Work, we provide a safe and motivating environment where you can set and achieve employment goals. If you do decide you’d like to work with us, there are many different elements to the service we provide, including:
- life and employability skills coaching, including confidence building;
- a structured five week course, which gives you an opportunity to get in to the swing of workplace habits and routines;
- support to develop your CV, find work placements, apply for jobs and prepare for interviews;
- opportunities to get to know other women who are in the same boat as you; and
- access to further education and volunteering opportunities that will help you to develop a career – if that’s what you want – not just get a job.
Each of our clients works with a personal coach. With support from your coach, you’ll set goals, develop an action plan, and then work towards those goals. The key thing is that this is your plan – you’re in the driving seat. Your coach is there to support you, not tell you what to do.
We understand that getting a job is easier said than done, so as well as supporting you to develop skills, knowledge, confidence and experience, and helping with the practical stuff – like childcare, we’ll help you to stay motivated too.
Once you’re in work, we run regular events so that you can maintain the support networks you’ve built up, and our mentoring programme will help you deal with challenges and make the most of your new workplace opportunities.
